Digital Signature
What is Digital Signature
An electronic signature known as a "digital signature" is a special kind that acts as a digital "fingerprint" to verify the identity of the signer and the authenticity of the digital document they sign. A digital certificate is permanently included in a document when it is digitally signed. This digital certificate confirms if the document has been tampered with in addition to precisely identifying the signer and the moment the signature was made.
Traditional pen-and-ink signatures are less safe and secure than digital signatures. You can't always tell who signed a paper and when they signed it if the signature is handwritten. Furthermore, once the handwritten signatures have been added, it is impossible to verify if the document has been altered.
Digital signature technology has been around for a while, and it is widely standardised and acknowledged by corporations, organisations, and governments all around the world. Digital signatures are more generally accepted internationally than more straightforward (and less secure) kinds of electronic signatures. When a digital document with a digital signature is signed, it becomes legally binding and will remain so for many years to come.
What are the Benefits of Digital Signatures?
Security - Due to the cryptographic encryption that is included into the signed papers, digital signatures are more secure than traditional handwritten signatures.
Legality – Legally speaking, digital signatures are equivalent to handwritten ones. The signature's provable validity can hold up in court just like a regular pen-and-paper signature would.
Workflow – All businesses aim for efficiency in the workplace, and digital signatures have made the process of processing papers easier and more seamless than before. Businesses benefit from this technological advancement by saving time and money.
Customer Experience – Would you prefer to work with a company that processes papers using traditional pen and paper methods, which can take days or even weeks, or one that can handle your documents quickly and securely? Customers desire a quicker, better, and more organised experience, and they get it from businesses that employ digital signatures in customer-facing roles.
